About this piece
Fluting on a column is one of those details that seems small until the light hits it and you see what it does - each groove catches a slightly different angle of light, so the whole column seems to shift. The trumpet-shaped top has a beaded rim, and the pedestal base has turned banding. Three stands, three heights, intended to be used as a group. The proportions come from Roman classical architecture, which has been informing good silverware design for a few centuries now.
