About this piece
The amber and tortoiseshell tones in this vase come from coloured glass worked into the crystal during blowing - the glassblower folds the colours in as the piece takes shape, which is why they swirl rather than sit in bands. The tapered body widens at the opening, which is a good shape for a single branch or a loose arrangement of flowers. Every piece has its own pattern because the colours move differently each time. That's the whole point.
